Overscroll Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
Overscroll is made by Riddim Software Corporation. This policy applies to the iOS and Android versions of the game and explains what information is stored on your device, what is sent to service providers, and the choices available to you.
Overscroll does not require a separate Riddim Software account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or precise location. The game does use analytics, advertising, platform achievement services, and platform billing services as described below.
Information stored on your device
Overscroll stores game information locally so the game can remember your progress and settings. This can include your best score, games played, purchase entitlement, achievement-delivery status, consent choices, and other game preferences.
The game also keeps a small rotating diagnostic event log on your device. It contains technical and gameplay events such as session and run identifiers, timestamps, scores, catch timing and accuracy, run duration, and how a run ended. It does not contain your name, email address, or other information you type into the game.
Local information is removed when you delete the app, subject to any backup or restore features provided by Apple, Google, or your device.
Firebase Analytics
Overscroll uses Google Firebase Analytics on iOS and Android to understand how the game performs and how people play it. Riddim Software can access this analytics information through Firebase, Google Analytics, and connected reporting tools.
Firebase Analytics automatically processes information that can include:
- App-instance and device identifiers, including a pseudonymous identifier for an installation and an advertising identifier when one is available.
- App and device information, such as app version, operating system, device model, language, and screen information.
- Approximate location, derived from a masked IP address. Overscroll does not request your device's precise-location permission.
- App lifecycle and purchase events, such as first launch, app open, session activity, updates, and in-app purchase events.
- Gameplay events sent by Overscroll, such as session and run identifiers, score, catch timing and accuracy, scroll speed, run duration, use of a rewarded continue, whether a best score was reached, and how a run ended.
We use this information to measure reliability and engagement, balance difficulty, improve gameplay, understand advertising and purchase performance, and diagnose problems. Overscroll does not set a Firebase user ID or deliberately send your name, email address, Game Center name, or Google Play Games profile name to Firebase.
Google AdMob
Overscroll uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show an optional rewarded ad when you choose to continue a run and occasional interstitial ads after runs. Google automatically collects and shares information through the SDK for advertising, analytics, security, and fraud-prevention purposes. This can include:
- Device and account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID, iOS advertising identifier when permitted, app-set or app-instance identifiers, and identifiers associated with signed-in accounts where applicable.
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address.
- Product and advertising interactions, including app launches, taps, ad requests, impressions, video views, rewards, and ad clicks.
- Diagnostic information, such as app launch time, performance, hang rate, energy usage, and SDK errors.
Google uses this information to select, deliver, limit, measure, and secure ads. Riddim Software receives advertising performance reports but does not receive your payment details or a direct copy of your Google or Apple account credentials.
Advertising choices and consent
Where required, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Overscroll uses Google's User Messaging Platform to present a consent form before requesting ads. The choices available and the resulting ad-serving mode depend on your region and the consent message configured by Google.
iOS
Overscroll may ask for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency system. If you allow tracking, Google may use the iOS advertising identifier to personalize and measure ads across apps and websites. If you do not allow tracking, the identifier is unavailable to the app. You can change this permission in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Android
Google's advertising and analytics SDKs may access the Android advertising ID. You can reset or delete that identifier using the Ads controls in Android Settings. When the identifier is unavailable, Google may still process other information for contextual or limited advertising, measurement, frequency capping, security, and fraud prevention.
Platform achievements and sign-in
Overscroll uses Apple Game Center on iOS and Google Play Games Services on Android. These services may authenticate you using the platform account already configured on your device. Overscroll sends achievement identifiers and progress to the applicable service. Apple or Google may show their own sign-in interface, achievement notifications, profile, or game-services interface.
Riddim Software does not operate a separate account system for Overscroll and does not receive your Apple Account or Google Account password. Apple and Google process game-services information under their own privacy policies and account settings.
In-app purchases
Overscroll offers a one-time "Remove Ads" purchase. Apple processes the purchase through StoreKit on iOS, and Google processes it through Google Play Billing on Android. The app checks the applicable store for purchase status so it can provide the entitlement.
Apple and Google handle your payment method and account billing information. Riddim Software does not receive your complete payment-card or bank-account details. We may receive transaction status and aggregated sales and financial reports from the stores.
How information is shared
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate, analyze, monetize, secure, and improve Overscroll. The providers used by the current versions are Google Firebase and Google Analytics, Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform, Google Play Games Services and Google Play Billing on Android, and Apple Game Center and StoreKit on iOS.
We do not sell personal information for money. AdMob's use of identifiers and advertising interactions for personalized advertising can be considered a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising under some privacy laws. The consent and device controls described above let you limit that use where applicable.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users or our rights, or as part of a corporate transaction, subject to applicable law.
Retention and deletion
Local game information and diagnostic logs remain on your device until the app removes or rotates them, you clear the app's data, or you delete the app. Apple and Google may restore some local information from a device backup.
Firebase, Google Analytics, AdMob, Apple, and Google retain information according to their settings, contracts, and privacy policies. Analytics is generally retained in pseudonymous form for the retention period configured for our analytics property. Some aggregated reports may no longer identify an individual app installation.
You can contact us at the address below with a privacy or deletion request. Because Overscroll does not ask for direct contact information or maintain a Riddim account, we may be unable to associate pseudonymous analytics data with you without additional information from your device.
Your choices
- Consent choices. Use Google's consent form when it is presented to choose the advertising and data uses available in your region.
- iOS tracking. Use Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking to change Overscroll's App Tracking Transparency permission.
- Android advertising ID. Use the Ads controls in Android Settings to reset or delete the Android advertising ID.
- Platform game services. Manage Game Center or Google Play Games Services through the corresponding Apple or Google account and device settings.
- Remove interstitial ads. The one-time purchase disables interstitial ads. Optional rewarded continues remain available.
- Delete local data. Clear the app's data on Android or delete the app. Deleting the app removes its local information, subject to platform backups.
Children's privacy
Overscroll is a general-audience arcade game and is not directed to children under 13. It is not listed in Apple's Kids Category or enrolled in Google Play's Families program. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information directly to Riddim Software. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
International processing
Riddim Software Corporation is based in Ontario, Canada. Google, Apple, and their service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
Third-party privacy information
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Overscroll's services or data practices change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above before materially changed practices are released where required.
